Hey there...
We know all of this can be daunting, so we've set up a page just for those who need a little time and patience to look over exactly what the process involves, before making a decision.
We are also adding some additional support for those new to Hall & Co., or just completely new to the idea of seeking a whole-person approach to wellness. You can now call us for free for 20 minutes to talk to us, get to know us, and get to know how we work before committing to a consultation. Alternatively you can book 20 minutes to come in to the office and talk to us face to face - it gives us all a chance to know if working together is the right fit, for something that is a big choice; You will find all of this at the bottom of the page.
What happens before the first visit?
This is your chance to get to know us - you can either schedule a 20 minute call and talk to us, get to know us and feel you can trust us to help you, before making the decision to book your initial consultation. Or you can schedule a 20 minute face to face meeting at the office, which is sometimes a nicer way to meet someone.
It's also important to think about why you are coming to see us;
-
Do you need support with nutrition but feel everything else is good in your life, then you might want to go for holistic nutrition consultancy. We will cover what your symptoms are, what your goals are, and how best to achieve these goals.
-
If you want to understand your body and are looking for a way to support your acute or chronic conditions, including lifestyle advice, and wish to use herbals as a means to achieve this - then you might be better off choosing the naturopathy and herbal consultation.
Once you feel happy about making the decision to see us, you can book yourself in for your initial consultation. Whilst you are waiting for that appointment you can take the time to get together some information for us - we will tell you about that in the following sections below.
What happens during the first visit?
Depending on the service you have booked will dictate the amount of time we need, if you have booked the holistic nutrition consultation, we typically need around 60 minutes, and for naturopathy and herbal consultancy we will need around 90 minutes.
In your naturopathy and herbal consultancy we will also take photos of your eyes and tongue, with your permission - we use this information to guide us as to the possible issues surrounding your tissues and organs, please read more about iridology here.
In both services we will take you through a comprehensive health history form, think of it like a time-line of your health from birth to present, including family history, systems check: how your digestion is working, cardiovascular system, urinary, respiratory etc. All of these things need to be understood before we decide how best to help and support you. It is in this time where you get to tell us as much as possible, so take some time to think about everything you want to tell us. We will have questions for you to help us build a complete picture, so being prepared is always best, after-all this is your time and your wellness.
What should you bring?
It's always helpful to bring a list of supplements, prescription medications, lab reports and anything else you can think of - all of these help us to understand what we need to do to support you on your journey to optimal wellness.
We will always need to know supplements and prescription medications because we may want to use a herb or supplement, and have to do some research to make sure there are no interactions.
What will you leave with?
After you have finished your consultation you will leave with a better insight into how to support yourself, after-all your wellness is in your hands. You will leave with the understanding that we are going to take your case away with us and spend time deciding how to support you through research, which can include:
-
Books
-
Research papers,
-
Papers and notes that we have written during our time studying for four years.
-
An iridological reading
These things will help us to compile an advice sheet which we will save as a PDF and send to you via email, this will give you the guidance you need to learn how to support yourself. Please bare in mind that putting your advice sheet together takes time, it can take as much as 16 hours of research after we see you to finalise it and send it to you.
If you are seeing our naturopath and herbalist, then he will also be putting together your herbal formula which is sent to his supplier - this can take about 2 weeks to arrive because we insist on only the best organic herbs, in our case they come from Canada because they have a huge range of herbs to choose from. This is great news for us and you because it means we have lots of choice to find the herbs that suit you. When you receive your herbs you will have a 4 week supply, once finished you will be ready for your follow-up.
How does the follow-up work?
The follow-up is a chance for us to find out how you are doing, address any challenges you've experienced, where any changes can be made, or simply to express how well you feel you are doing now. This is a shorter session because we don't need to cover all of the material from the initial consultation, it is simply a chance to make sure we are on the right track, and to encourage or support you where-ever you need it, and to order more herbal formulas should you need it.
We will want to see you 4 weeks after you received your herbal formula in the case of the naturopath and herbalist, if you are seeing the holistic nutrition consultant, then they will want to see you 4 weeks from the initial consultation.
Why are these different? - Purely because it takes around 2 weeks for herbal formulas to arrive, so really you'll be seeing the naturopath and herbalist every 6 weeks. We will reach a point where herbal formulas can be mixed in-house, at that point your follow-up appointment will become every 4 weeks.
There will come a time when we need to see how you do without the support of the tinctures or consultations - this shows a strong positive step forward in your journey to optimal wellness. After that it is up to you to carry on what you have learnt, in the hope that we never have to support you again... in a positive way, obviously. There may come a day when you do need support again, for whatever reason, and we will be there.
How much does it cost?
The Hall & Co. Clinic charges:
-
$200 for the initial consultations
-
$160 for the follow-up consultations
-
FREE - 20 minute face to face or call to get to know us and how we can help
Herbal formula cost:
-
$150 - For your first couple of visits we will ask for a retainer before we can order your herbs, there-after we will invoice for the herbal formulas, after we have paid for them. If your formula is less than $150, any change will be returned to you. All formulas are charged at cost, we will not make a profit from these, only the consultations. Typically formulas cost around $120 depending on the ingredients, and this should last 4 weeks.
-
Supplements are also charged at cost and are on a case by case situation.
How do I book an appointment?
There are a few ways to book an appointment with us, but the easiest way is to go to our services page and pick the service option you feel is best for you.
Ask yourself a simple question first:
-
Do you feel you are generally in good health, but feel that you need some support in finding better food options to support your overall wellness?
-
Then the holistic nutrition consultant would be the best fit for you.
-
-
Do you feel that your acute or chronic wellness concerns require something a bit more in-depth? Maybe you've had a diagnosis and you would like to get some support whilst you are following the doctors advice.
-
The the naturopath & herbalist would be the best fit for you.
-
-
Do you feel you just need to talk to someone, either face to face or on a call?
-
Then use the options below, and get 20 minutes with us to decide.
-
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have an undiagnosed acute condition, you MUST first see your primary GP / MD / Dr - we are not considered primary consultants and it is important to make sure that what you are feeling is not a life-threatening condition. If you do choose to come to us first we will not see you and will insist that you go straight to the ER or your primary. The same will be said for any undiagnosed chronic condition.
